From this page you can find your way to over 1600 Christmas carols and hymns encoded in the ABC music notation language. The files were generated automatically using my MusicXML to ABC converter. I will reconvert these files as the converter is improved over time.
The origin of the MusicXML files is Douglas Anderson's website The Hymns and Carols of Christmas. He has kindly placed the files in the public domain, but has retained copyright on many of the files; this information - and the original file naming - has been retained in the MusicXML to ABC conversion. Note that, in turn, most of the MusicXML files on that site were automatically converted from either Noteworthy or MIDI format. Some of those conversions appear to have been a little 'idiosyncratic' at times; in particular there seem to have been some issues with handling slurring and ties.
Many of the carols have several versions, some are simple tunes, other are in two- or four-part harmony. Files with lower case names appear after all those starting with upper case letters in the following lists.
